Community Leaders to Meet with Senior Biden Administration Officials and Policymakers During Three-Day Event

New Orleans, LA – On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, leading environmental justice organizations, the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice (DSCEJ) and the Robert D. Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice at Texas Southern University will ignite the Justice40 August Convening. The three-day event unites leaders, activists, and policymakers dedicated to advancing environmental justice and translating the Biden Administration's pledge into action.

Executive directors Dr. Beverly Wright and Dr. Robert Bullard are championing communities affected by pollution and extreme weather. Their collective efforts empower these communities to advocate for their rightful share of resources.

Distinguished guests include White House Senior Advisor John Podesta and Dr. Jalonne White-Newsome, Senior Director of Environmental Justice at the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). Representatives from vital federal agencies will collaborate with hub leaders to ensure the just execution of Justice40’s goals.
