The Mental Health Toll of Climate Injustices (

Summary

The Harris County Commissioner Court voted 3-1 on January 10 to establish a climate action plan that intends to reduce greenhouse gas emissions created by the county government by 40% by 2030. The County (which includes the City of Houston, Texas) intends to do this by entering into a power purchase agreement to acquire more renewable energy, electrifying 50-75% of the light duty fleet, promoting staff commuting, and creating a waste reduction strategy. The county will next establish a strategy to assist people and businesses in reducing emissions.
