A double bind: youth activism, climate change, and education

A newly released special research issue pulls participants and contributions from four continents and contains articles that explore global or transnational viewpoints while emphasizing Indigenous peoples' perspectives. It explores the link between youth climate activism and education in terms of both education's obligation to establish creative interactions with young people whose futures will be shaped by climate change and youth climate activism's role in disrupting and transforming educational institutions. The papers explore three major themes: (i) the dramatization and visualisation of climate change for and by young people, (ii) the need for culturally relevant frameworks for climate change education, and (iii) alternative educational methods that link climate activism and education together.
