My name is Shevante Jenkins, and I am from Lafayette, Louisiana. I am currently a junior majoring in Social Work, with a strong passion for Environmental Justice—the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, in the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. My primary area of focus within this field is Environmental Racism, where I strive to understand and address the disproportionate environmental burdens faced by marginalized communities. Through my studies and future career, I hope to advocate for equitable solutions that protect both people and the planet.
