Destiny Okonkwo is a Junior at Texas Southern University studying Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law. Residing in Dallas, Texas, she came to Texas Southern to follow her dreams to be a criminal justice prosecutor. She applied for the HBCU Environmental Justice and Climate Corps Internship due to a growing interest in the effects of the environmental crisis within communities. During her internship, Destiny grew a love for aiding communities in getting clean air, water, and land they rightfully deserve. She came to this conference to learn more and gain experience in her future field, in which she changed to become an environmental justice attorney and activist.
