The Bullard Center would like to highlight the Alabama community-based organizations (CBOs), sponsors, and volunteers for aiding families affected by Hurricane Isaias during an initiative by Generations Forward Learning Farm and Shiloh Community Center. A total of 448 families were assisted in the course of the hurricane relief program, including 250 families who signed up online and 198 families who signed up with paper registration through partners. Supplies were given to families in six counties: Coffee, Geneva, Pike, Houston, Covington, and Crenshaw, as well as Tallahassee, Florida.
In the wake of the natural disaster, the community initiative helped rally sponsors and volunteers to provide the necessary supplies to affected families. It can be asserted that the community-based initiative plays a significant role in fundraising and in meeting the community's immediate needs during emergencies.
