Kinder Morgan to Start Working on a 216-Mile Natural Gas Pipeline in Katy

Kinder Morgan announced plans for the $1.7 billion Trident Intrastate Pipeline, a 216-mile project connecting Katy to Port Arthur. Once operational in early 2027, the pipeline will deliver 1.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas daily. Kinder Morgan CEO Kim Dang stated the project addresses growing energy demands, including those from Texas' expanding AI data centers. The pipeline is backed by long-term contracts, and Kinder Morgan is engaging with landowners to address concerns. This project joins a surge of natural gas infrastructure developments in Texas, including Energy Transfer’s Hugh Brinson Pipeline and WhiteWater Midstream’s Permian Basin pipeline, reflecting increasing demand for natural gas to support industrial and technological growth in the state.
