Kayla Hailey Jackson

Kayla Hailey Jackson is a Junior at Texas Southern University pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in Mathematics. Kayla is an active member on campus as she serves on three executive boards on campus. Kayla is the treasurer of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Treasure to (Beta Psi) The Houston League of Professional Businesswoman, and Vice President to Big Sister Little Sister. Kayla is a Louise Stokes for Minority Participation L-SAMP scholar. Kayla is also the 2023-2024 COSET Queen for the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology. Since being enrolled at TSU, Kayla has worked on two math internships studying Dynamic Systems and, recently, an Environmental Justice Climate Corps Intern for The Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice. Kayla has participated in TSU's Research Week and presented at the UTA Math Conference, where she obtained knowledge on analyzing and utilizing tools to better identify and track pollution in surrounding communities. Kayla plans to become a data analyst working with renewable energy companies striving for a better future for our planet.
